Annual Curry Festival Sept. 19, 2015, in St. Petersburg’s Vinoy Park

The lineup of professional chefs for this year’s Tampa Bay International Curry Festival (TBICF) Sept. 19 aims to impress, with chefs coming from India, England, Trinidad, New York and Miami. From noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Vinoy Park, 701 Bayshore Drive, N.E., in St. Petersburg, TBICF will showcase a myriad of national and local chefs, restaurants and individuals, all vying to win the first-place prize of $1,500 for professional chefs. Festival admission is $10 per person and all proceeds, after expenses, benefit the following charities: Cando, The Ian Beckles Foundation, Pasco Kids First, Philippine Cultural Foundation, Helen Ellis Memorial Foundation, Save Abee: The Children of Tomorrow, Golfers Vs. Singer Arijit Singh of ‘Tum Hi Ho’ fame takes stage Sept. 18, 2015, in Orlando

Nearly a decade ago, he lost in the finals of “Fame Gurukul.” But Arijit Singh made a comeback with another reality show “10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil.” In 2013, he won the Best Male Playback Singer at the 59th Filmfare Awards for ‘Tum Hi Ho’ from the film “Aashiqui 2.” Since then, the music programmer and talented crooner hasn’t looked back.
